I will be looking for the best light in your home, this is most likely your living area, master bedroom or nursery.

These sessions are very much lifestyle based, capturing moments in your space. Lots of bonding time and enjoying the company.
If In Doubt, Neutrals
I always recommend neutrals if you aren't sure, its flattering on all skin types, its less distracting and its easy to pair.
Sun or Snow
Think about the time of year if you are having an outdoor session. Will it be warm or cold? Will you need only one layer or a few? Dress to the weather or bring extra layers just in case.
Do It Your Way
I want you to be comfortable, I always want you to look back on your images and see the real you. Just avoid clothing with large logos and all will be well!
Maternity
I have a great client wardrobe available to use for expecting mummas, bump friendly and many different styles and sizes.
My Favourite Light
Sunset is the best light of the day. The sun is low and golden <3 This is the most flattering light of the day. Usually meeting in the last hour before sunset would be the most recommended time. During Summer time this can be quite late in the day, but totally worth it for the beautiful images.
Bribes
I'm all about the bribes, sometimes photos can be daunting for everyone. So I try make things as fun as possible. Bring along some treats or toys that may help encourage some of those gorgeous smiles. Trust me, Im not funny enough to perform a comedy skit!
Location
My go to spots are the Hills or the Beach in Christchurch. Depending on the time of year some other favourites can be the river, flower gardens or the forest. We do have plenty of great options locally. If you did have somewhere else in mind I am happy to discuss.
Extended Family
Load up all the fam and let's capture everyone together. Lots of prep work goes into these sessions so I do allow for a little bit more time, we like to arrange the timing to best suit everyone. Ideally sunset but this could mean around nap time, after lunch/dinner, whatever your family requires might work best for you. Again snacks work wonders, I encourage bringing a ball or some sort of games, bubbles or we schedule your session around something your family likes to do together. As well as capturing all of the fun candid moments, everyone relaxes a little more and it's easier to get that wall worthy image.
FAQ
Can we bring our Pet?
Yes, of course. If you would like to bring along your beloved pet to your session you are more than welcome to. Maybe bribes for this one is required also.
What if its raining?
If you have an outdoor session I'll be watching the weather like clockwork, if it is set to be too wet and windy we will postpone if we can. We can continue with the shoot in any weather if you're up for it but recommend more favourable weather especially with littlelies. The studio is an option but only to limited amount of people due to the space size.
What if I'm sick?
If you or your loved ones are unwell please let me know as soon as possible and I will do my very best to reschedule your session for as soon as your better. I most likely have other families waiting for availability to pop up so the more time I have to offer others the better.
What if I'm late?
Being late will result in a shortened session, we may miss good sunset light and will have limited time to create magic.
Do you recommending professional Hair + Make up?
Totally a personal decision. If you aren't normal one for this I wouldn't recommend or getting a super simple natural look. I can recommend some top artists, Stacey Banfields even offers my family/maternity clients a special rate.
